We are offering a new service from September 2005 called Link-Up. The aim of this service is to provide help to older people in their own homes to enable them to maintain independence by reducing social isolation and social exclusion. You will be introduced to a trained Volunteer who will provide weekly visits to your home.

We also offer Telephone Befriending for isolated older people who prefer a telephone call rather than a face to face visit. We will call you each week.

 

What support can we offer?

• Be a Link to the outside world.
• Offer some social contact for those who do not wish to attend groups/clubs.
• Regular social contact.
• Effective links to other services.
• Act as an early warning system as needs change.
• It may be an opportunity for you to volunteer from home.

How can you access the Service?

The service is run by volunteers and places will be allocated and prioritized according to the needs of the individual. Referrals can be made by yourself, a relative or a professional. Contact Link-Up.
