Exercise

Keeping physically active is important if you want to stay healthy as you grow older and wish to maintain your independence. It can help to reduce serious illness such as stroke, diabetes, obesity and heart disease as well as helping you to maintain mobility and reduce the likelihood of falls.

Joining one of the many community groups or leisure centres across Bristol City can help you reduce stress, meet other people and participate in new activities.

Contact your local library, community or leisure centre for more information on local activities such as walking groups, dancing sessions, Yoga, T'ai Chi, keep fit, swimming or aqua aerobics.

If you are over 55 and living alone without regular contact with family and need some support to become more involved in community life our Link-Up project may be able to help. Contact Link-Up.
