Who may use the service?
Older people over the age of 55 who live within the Bristol boundaries who are in need of help with their garden maintenace. This service is operated solely by volunteers who give their time and is dependant upon them. Sometimes we may have some difficulty in matching volunteers with people who have gardens in need of work, this creates delays in getting your gardening completed. For this reason you may prefer to employ a gardener though our Tradespersons Register.
What jobs can be undertaken?
Our service is operated from April to September, dependant upon weather conditions it may start or finish earlier or later. The nature of gardening work means it is dependant upon suitable weather.
The following are examples of the type of work we can undertake:
* Grass cutting
* Tidying of borders
* Essential pruning of shrubs, small trees etc
* Hedge cutting
* Weeding
How can you access this service?
An appointment will be made for the volunteer to undertake the work at a mutually convenient time. All volunteers carry Age Concern Bristol identification
How much does it cost?
All labour is free of charge. We are happy to receive a donation of £7 per visit, if you wish to make one.
