Support us

Young girl sitting on older man's shouldersWe are a local independent charity who would not be able to continue our work to support older people in Bristol without our dedicated Volunteers and the donations we receive. We help thousands of older people in Bristol each year by:

  • Helping them to get the benefits they are entitled to.
  • Being supportive by talking through issues which have just become overwhelming.
  • Helping to tame overgrown gardens.

Have you a few hours to spare and want to make a difference to the lives of older people in Bristol?

Have you always wondered what volunteering would involve and whether it would suit you?

If you would like to give a donation to us or leave us a legacy, would you know how to go about it?

Have you considered donating unwanted clothing and bric-a brac to one of our charity shops?

This section offers information on volunteering with us, our local charity shops, fundraising and details about donations and legacies.

We only have 50 gold bond places, so don’t waste time, contact us today for your application pack.

I Remember That! By Pauline Nichols

Pauline Nichols has put together a collection of childhood rhymes, songs, prayers and lullabies that have been passed down through the generations.  Through advertising nationwide for other people’s most memorable childhood verses, Pauline has managed to keep these memories alive and not forgotten in her book I Remember That!  Pauline hopes that not only will this book be a reference for those interested in oral history but she also hopes it can be used to help jog elderly people’s memory and encourage them to talk about old times.

The profits for this book will be shared between the Babe Appeal and Age Concern Bristol.  The book costs £5.95 plus 75p postage and you can purchase a copy from Pauline Nichols at 43 Manor Park, Redland, Bristol, BS6 7HL.
