AGE CONCERN BRISTOL URGES LOCALS TO GUARANTEE THEIR FUNERAL AT TODAY’S PRICES

27 Sep 2009

Age Concern Bristol is holding a Funeral Planning Month at Canningford House, 38 Victoria Street, Bristol BS1 6BY during the whole of October from Monday to Friday, 10am -1pm; 2pm – 4pm, to offer local customers the opportunity to discuss their funeral planning needs on a one to one basis with a trained advisor.

The event will provide guests with the chance to learn about their Funeral Plan options in a supportive environment and to ask any questions they may have. This positive, practical and friendly approach ensures customers can be confident that they are making the right decision for them without any pressure.

Taking out a Funeral Plan is more worthwhile now than ever before, due to ever-increasing funeral costs and low interest rates on savings. The average cost of a funeral in 2008 was £2,549¹ and it is predicted to rise to £4,050² by 2015. Taking out an Age Concern Guaranteed Funeral Plan guarantees that the funeral costs covered by the plan are met in full, meaning less worry and financial strain for all involved.

Michele Cockainsaid, “Taking out an Age Concern Guaranteed Funeral Plan makes financial sense given the current economic climate, as you’re effectively paying for your funeral at today’s prices. This not only means that the financial burden won’t fall on relatives, but it also ensures that your wishes can be carried out, which can be a great source of comfort for family at an upsetting time.

“The comfort and relief that come from taking out a plan enable people to focus on the present and enjoy their later years - which is the most important thing.”

Age Concern’s Funeral Plan is designed specifically for the over 50’s and offers flexible plans and payment methods to suit different requirements. Age Concern Funeral Plans are provided in collaboration with Dignity Caring Funeral Services and have the following benefits:
  • Guaranteed to cover the cost of a cremation funeral
  • Guaranteed acceptance if you are over 50
  • No medical or health questions asked
  • Flexible payment methods
  • Allows family and friends to add their own special tribute when the time comes.

Guests attending the Funeral Planning Month will receive a free pen as a thank you for visiting.
